NBA ROLE: VERSATILE, SCORING WING

 

Saddiq Bey has game: valuable wing who can really get a bucket - earlier in his career, Bey emerged as one of DET’s top overall players before being dealt to ATL at the trade deadline in 2023; specializes in the long gun: usually good for at least a few triples each game - hunts threes in transitions, stays ready in any spot up opportunity, can cash extremely difficult/contested looks; underrated passer, can hit cutters & open shooters in transition; disciplined defender & rebounder, makes a point to control possessions; very solid scorer between the lines - Bey uses his body to post & wall off defenders on turnarounds and when driving baseline; nice pull-up shooter w/ emerging skill getting his shot away under any circumstance (features “bail-out” shots & step backs in his attack); good finisher near the rim, absorbs contact before scoring; needs to continue to develop initiating with the ball in his hands; returning after ACL injury - landed w/ Pelicans (2024): Bey enters 2025-26 as an UnderDOG but could be in line for a strong, bounce back season
