An athletic combo guard outta Fresno State, Tyler Johnson has been a revelation since going undrafted in 2014 – worked his way up from the D-League & Summer League circuits and never looked back; lefty guard w/ fantastic bounce – Tyler’s explosive, can finish regardless of who’s in the area (drives down the lane with something to prove); quick release, pretty efficient shooter; crafty dribbler (hesitates well), capable of getting his own shots; pretty confident off the dribble: able to score above (2-hand dunks) & below (floats) the rim; as much as he penetrates, TJ should look for spot-up shooters & cutters after collapsing the defense; works hard on defense, lacks elite size & strength but slides well, normally keeps his matchup honest; fierce competitor – valuable Star UnderDOG – supreme role player in PHX?
