A former McDonald’s All-American, Trevon Duval’s an athletic PG w/ deceptive speed in the half court; quick ups, can improvise & boom mid-stride; creative dribbler & finisher, likes to cross, use hesitation moves to get all the way in & score; lacks an outside game, 3-pt. range has held Duval back a tad - faster release + more reps should help cause; must focus on breakdown scoring (without taking bad shots) & playmaking in year 1; consistency & control will dictate career arc; highly regarded prospect in HS, undrafted after freshman year (at Duke) - could use experience as a springboard for success; interesting fit in Houston, will need time to grow into his own as a lead guard
