A 7-foot, 4-year player at UCLA, Denver took a flier on Thomas Welsh w/ the 58th overall pick in 2018; much improved shooter over college career - (nice, quick J) extended range to downtown, nice pick & pop threat from mid (likes to can 15-18 footers) & long-range ; seals well when posting, decent right hook game; solid mobility; not very intimidating but able to send back shots when challenging on the interior; or can he develop niche as a second unit shot-blocker; rebounds very well*, tallied tons of double-doubles at UCLA; has to eat v. smaller lineups to stay on floor; older prospect, low profile w/o much maintenance or seasoning necessary; on 2Way contract w/ Hornets - Welsh must take advantage whenever Coach Borrego needs him
