ROBIN LOPEZ (MIL)
#42•R. LOPEZ
C • 7'0, 281 lbs; 16th year, Stanford
SALTY DOG
NBA ROLE: ACTIVE, ALL-AROUND 5
Robin, the younger Lopez, is an active center with an engaging personality in the locker room; has worked his way up from role player to more than respectable center since beginning his career outta Stanford in ’08; not the most dominating offensive player or most terrifying defender – Robin simply does everything well; decisive passer – Lopez is always cognizant of who’s open, can hit shooters if the D foolishly decides to converge; w/ his back to the rim, he’ll lend a few hooks and counters – isn’t very quick but likes to fake, then pull a couple protected-baby-hooks that are pretty damn effective*; decent shooter: hitting straightaway 15-footers is Robin’s specialty, starting to launch (open) triples; returned to Milwaukee, (reunited w/ Brook! • 2023) – veteran rim protector & post defender for Coach Griffin’s group
*RoLo’s one of the best bigs at sealing his man underneath the rim – he gets deep in the lane and lofts easy buckets after securing the advantage
