For 15 seasons, Gordon Hayward’s done damage as an “all-purpose” player; varied scorer: good shooter (hop shot guy), can hit J’s off the dribble – loves relying on a hanging runner (shoots it last minute) & slick step back J going right; super patient playmaker – Hayward pushes the button but falls back when necessary, will defer to other shot-creators; can score at all three levels, has a soft touch on most of his shots; clutch performer: pilots the ship as a makeshift point forward, has delivered in the past as a Mariano Rivera-esque, shutdown closer in the 4th; decent defender (these days), foul drawer & rebounder; calming force off the bench, though very injury prone
