NBA ROLE: VERSATILE POINT GUARD
It’s no coincidence a lot of coaches have viewed George Hill as one of the more versatile point guards in the Association over the years; wired to win: G. Hill is steady in every area – good finisher on the break, can get above the rim in transition; extremely smart, sequence defender – like a cornerback on a full house blitz, G. Hill uses his long arms to disrupt passing lanes, turning defense into offense; Hill stays under control going to the hole, can score from in between – but if the lane is clogged, he’ll make the extra pass; great shooter (money from the corner), led NBA in 3-pt. percentage in 2020; offensive consistency hasn’t always been a given (has adjusted well to a limited role, however), though a maximum effort on D is second nature; reunited w/ Pacers (2023) – wily, veteran PG off the bench
*go-to dunk: ‘one handed fly-thru’
