USC’s Chimezie Metu is an athletic, hybrid big who can stretch the floor & finish around the basket; impressive midrange game, sort of a throwback (in terms of skill & willingness to shoot it) - Metu likes to turn & score (threatens w/ his jab), is comfortable post-screening; good speed, can beat slower bigs off the dribble & score w/ either hand near the rim (underrated w/ his left); (very) solid hook game, has learned to operate efficiently in the post & facing the rim; has made great as an outside shooter, likes setting up in the corner but can step back and fire w/ (or w/o) a defender nearby; landed w/ Pistons (2024) - unheralded talent: Metu’s near Star UnderDOG territory - current calling card as an efficient, second-unit scorer/rebounder
