Austin Rivers is one of better (veteran) two-way guards in the entire league; offensive profile: 1-on-1 player w/ underrated shake and a decent quick-float game – Austin’s learned better ways to get in the lane rather than rushing and forcing up wild shots; unheralded passer: looks to get guys involved, create simple scoring chances; more of a scorer to start out his career, Austin’s main impact comes from strong perimeter defense: energetic, really slides his feet and makes life difficult by pressing opposing guards and not giving any air space; trusts his J from the outside, normally hits a (hard) jab before a triple or drive; worked around the clock to build confidence; signed w/ T-Wolves (2022) – Rivers adds great value to Coach Finch’s backcourt
