SALTY DOG
NBA ROLE: STRETCH 4
Before the Golden State Warriors turned into a powerhouse, they fished for overlooked gems in the NBA D-League – after a series of 10-day calls, they stumbled upon a key find: Creighton’s Anthony Tolliver*; an undrafted forward w/ a very good touch from outside, Tolliver does well in a supporting role off the bench; often featured next to a dominant low-post big or speedy PG who can get into the lane and kick it back after screens; despite limitations athletically, Tolliver’s accurate burner has elevated him to stretch 4 status – best when spotting up in the corner, capable after screening near the elbow; not a strong defensive presence but plays with an edge when inserted (takes charges, uses his fouls) – kinda annoying in that regard, actually; rotational shooter: Tolliver’s considered at both forward spots, factors into late-game lineups if his shot’s falling
*CJ Watson & Anthony Morrow are a couple other Warrior-10 Day-call-up guys who worked out
