The son of longtime NBA vet Adrian Griffin, AJ Griffin was an “upside pick” by ATL in 2022; nice punch on the wing who’s made a name for himself in limited action; “lights out” shooting potential* - brings a unique aesthetic: nice, high release, doesn’t often miss a couple (or more) in a row; great size & strength at the 2: Griffin leverages his body well on defense - could work very well as a positive, “switchable” wing; isn’t much bothered by a tough contest: AJ sticks it to disciplined defenders by deliberately getting to his comfort zones & rising up for mid Js & floaters without hesitation; traded to Rockets (2024): Griffin’s a shooting guard prospect to keep an eye on in 2025
