#34•T. DAVIS

F/C • 6’10, 265 lbs; Rookie, Texas A&M

ROOK

NBA ROLE: (RAW) INTERIOR SCORER/REBOUNDER

Tyler Davis: an undrafted big on a 2Way contract; good size & strength: post-screen scorer in the league? - Davis likes to roll for midrange Js (resembles a set shot); must lock in on offensive glass, focus on boards, tip-ins & tip outs; what’s his defensive niche? - not very laterally quick but can hold his own defending the post; plus rim protector? - a bit more mobile than he appears, relies on timing for swats; more of a midrange scorer or back to rim scorer? 3-pt. range coming soon? (slow release, limited reps as of now); not much (immediate) opportunity in OKC, Davis will need to prove himself before earning real PT

SG • 6’3, 215 lbs; Rookie, Rhode Island

ROOK

NBA ROLE: (RAW) ATHLETIC COMBO GUARD

Jared Terrell: a 6’3 combo guard (undrafted) outta Rhode Island; strong frame: good pull-up shooter - pops right into Js off a few dribbles - shoots kinda similar to Kemba Walker; plays at a nice pace, not rushed very often - must take care of the ball & create in limited action; shooting consistency from Day 1?; do it all guard (potential)? - Terrell could cultivate w/ Iowa Wolves* & turn into a reliable glue guy at some point; route to rotation will come thru defense - gritty, must prove capable of handling larger 1s & 2s

*On a 2Way contract

#12•K. EVANS

PG • 6’3, 190 lbs; Rookie, Texas Tech

ROOK

NBA ROLE: (RAW) SCORING POINT

Keenan Evans: an athletic point outta Texas Tech; niche as an iso playmaker or all-around point?; volume bucket-getter in league? Evans lacks elite size & strength, needs to use quickness & effort to overcompensate; needs only a dribble to race to the rim - Evans can stop & go without a moment’s notice; swift crossovers, can create separation and get open looks; good shooter, must work on accuracy off the dribble; dhot selection + balancing PG duties (even distribution, generating open chances & keeping matchup at bay) are main points of emphases; on 2Way contract - long-term prospect? - can Evans separate himself in DET’s backcourt?

#18•O. CASSPI

F • 6’9, 225 lbs; 10th year, Israel

SALTY DOG

NBA ROLE: VETERAN, HYBRID FORWARD

Omri Casspi is a very useful, hybrid forward; provides floor spacing and rebounding in the second unit – starting to play more small ball four; good shooter – form isn’t pretty (arm drops really far down) but Omri is normally in the 35-37% range from downtown, can really catch fire; one of the best, ‘create something out of nothing’ slashers – dribbles upright: won’t cross you up but hits stylish floaters and driving lay-ups off broken plays; cuts well – very good at angling his body to the rim before he makes the catch; falls into ‘shoot em up’ mode: much more efficient playing off someone who commands a double team or can penetrate & generate open opportunities; veteran, second unit forward
